Independence Mountain appears to erupt the milky way across the summer sky with the stars Vega, Altair and Deneb flying at their peak. The summer triangle celebrating the holiday (July 4th, Independence day) with a fantastic view, directly overhead.
A very unusual view from a ghost town where Colorado miners once viewed the night’s celestial fireworks in the late 1870’s. Now nothing remains but a few cabins crumbling even as the never ending fireworks continue, 134 years to the day after the discovery of gold and silver in the town named after Independence Day. — Dave
